Although there were several cheaper mosquito zappers available on Amazon, this one appeared to be well-made, and it is. When my zapper arrived I was greeted with an email from customer care letting me know that if I had any troubleshooting questions to ask.  Although this one initially appears to be a little more costly, it is of excellent quality and feels sturdy. It features a huge solar panel on top to provide it with enough energy to complete the task all night long. The zapping surface area is also much larger than those small ones that look like wimpy torch lights. This thing has a great glow and spends all night zapping away at pesky insects. You have two options to either hang it on a provided chain or stand it up on a provided garden spike type stand. We live in a windy area, so chose the latter option.

I bought my first outdoor solar bug zapper in early May 2025, and I have to say, it has been one of the best investments I've made this summer. I was initially a bit skeptical about how well a solar-powered unit would perform, but it has completely exceeded my expectations. The battery has an amazing lifespan. Even on partly cloudy days, it fully charges during the day and runs constantly through the night. I see the results of its work every morning a pile of mosquitoes, flies, and other night critters. In order for it to zap larger nighttime bugs like moths, I also took off the protective nets. Knowing that I can enjoy my backyard without having to deal with bugs is extremely relaxing.

I bought this March 12th, and have had it running at night. Its the 2nd of April and it is running very good. I have a trick to share. Octanol is a lure to attract mosquitos. I had some left over from a Flowtron zapper. I bent the bars and slid it half in and half out of the bottom. This attracted the Mosquitos and the grid killed. I used Flowtron zappers since the late 1980s. We would have to tap it with a broom to get the bug guts out. We would be breathing in the crap that fell out. Very unhealthy! this one we clean with a leaf blower, and the waste blows away from you. Also you have to replace the tube on the flowtron every year. the color would change. LEDS don't change color with age
